Danielle Huson is a 19-year-old race car driver from Sedro-Woolley, WA. Her dad,
Marc Huson, builds Shark Racing Engines which is the most well known motor
building company on the west coast. He also raced himself and claimed many track
championships and had wins all over the west coast and into Canada. This has
given Danielle a huge advantage in the racing world because Marc not only builds
amazing quality engines, but he knows a ton about driving too.
In 1998 Danielle started racing 1/4 midgets (120s) at Pain field in Mukilteo,
WA. She raced there and a few other asphalt tracks in Washington, Oregon, and
Canada. From 1998-2001 she had over 50 top 3 A-main finished, as well as won the
Can-Am race. She also raced 200 1/4 midgets part time at Skagit speedway on the
smaller track there.
In 2002 Danielle had a very successful season and won the Jr. Sprint
Championship at Deming Speedway. After that she moved up to 250's for a couple
years but didn't like that near as much.
In 2005 she moved up to 600s half way through the season and used that as time
to adjust to the car and get some seat time for the next season.
2006, Danielle had 5 fast times, one track record, an A-main win, as well as
Clay Cup fast time at Deming speedway in the 600 class.
Hoping to follow in both her parents foot steps, she moved up to 360 sprint cars
in 2007. All eyes were on her and she not only proved herself, but showed the
fans that a girl can do exactly what the boys can. She had a few heat race wins
and made the first 7 NSCS A-main events. This was more than anyone expected and
could be considered a pretty good first year over-all.
In 2008 Danielle raced in the 360 class once again. She attended almost all of
the ASCS series events, which has races in Montana, Oregon, and Washington, and
raced a few in Canada as well. Marc decided to let Danielle race a few 410 races
to prepare for Skagit Speedways Dirt Cup, where she made the A-main all 3 nights
which is a huge accomplishment in itself when over 60 cars attended and all
great caliber drivers from all over the west coast.
In 2009, Huson Racing hopes to get some big sponsorships and travel a lot more. If
you or anyone you know would like to be a part of Danielle's racing team, please
contact us so we can meet and get started! Racing wouldn't be possible without
all of our sponsors and we can never have too many!
